The British Ambassador, Mr. Simon Thomas, and the Chair of Judaic Studies of the University of Zagreb, Dr. Naida-Michal Brandl, have the pleasure of inviting you to a guest lecture by the United Kingdom's Special Envoy for Post-Holocaust issues, Lord Pickles. The subject of the lecture will be Holocaust distortion.
The lecture will take place on Thursday 10 November 2022 at 1600hrs at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (Filozofski fakultet), Ivana Lucica 3, Zagreb, in lecture room no. 6 (D-6).
The Rt. Hon. Lord (Eric) Pickles has been UK Special Envoy for Post-Holocaust issues since 2015. The Special Envoy is responsible for developing and implementing UK Government policy on post-Holocaust issues, including ensuring the accessibility and preservation of the archival record of the Nazi era and its aftermath, promoting Holocaust education, remembrance and research, as well as encouraging the restitution of Holocaust-era assets. He works closely with a wide range of Holocaust academics, survivors, and educational and social organisations in the UK and around the world. He heads the UK delegation to the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance.
